Temple Beth Shalom now has a new Youth Group Director, Morissa Freiberg. Her position is funded by a kind grant from the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland. Let's all welcome Morissa to Temple Beth Shalom! Morissa sends the following introductory message to the congregation...
Shalom! My name is Morissa Freiberg, and I am so excited to be the new Youth Group Director at Temple Beth Shalom. I am currently a graduate student at Siegal College of Judaic Studies working towards a Master’s in Judaic Studies, and completed my undergraduate degree at Ohio University in Ethnomusicology and Jewish studies. During my time at Ohio University, I was an intern at Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life. I hope to build a strong community and Jewish identity within the youth of Temple Beth Shalom through engagement in creative, educational, and most importantly, fun programming. Currently, I am in the process of scheduling an initial meeting and pizza party for the group, which will serve as an opportunity to meet with the youth of the synagogue and receive their input and ideas for future events and programs. Membership in the group is extended to youth members of the congregation who are post-confirmation age, that are interested in a new way to continue their Jewish journey at Temple Beth Shalom. Our first meeting date, time and place will be announced soon, as I am in the process of contacting potential members. If you would like more information or think that you, your child or someone that you know might be interested in participating please do not hesitate to contact me!
