Letter from Rabbi Ross

Dear TBS Friends & Family,

Thank you to everyone who attended our wonderful Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at TBS Sunday evening. Nearly 100 people were in attendance.
Thank you to Deb Rogers and the TBS choir for lifting our hearts with your lovely music. Thank you to Brotherhood for providing ushers. Thank you to the Women of TBS for providing a sumptuous dessert reception!

May we all feel abundant gratitude as we join our family and friends this weekend. We will celebrate Shabbat at home this week.
Happy Thanksgiving!

JEWISH MEDITATION CIRCLE IS RESUMING!
Our next session is Thursday, 12/11 to prepare for Hanukkah.
For both beginners and advanced meditation folks.
Donations are welcome.

TBS’ Adult B’nai Mitzvah Class Starting this fall!
Have you wanted to transform your adult understanding of Judaism into a meaningful ritual? We are forming an adult b’nai mitzvah class this fall. We will spend the next 9 months or so studying together. Each student will read from the Torah, lead part of a group prayer service, and deliver a D’var Torah.

NEW CLASSES ARE STARTING THIS FALL:
– Jewish Prayer Essentials – structure & meaning of prayers (Saturday mornings before Torah Study, from 9:00 – 9:45 am)
– Basic Hebrew (with Jean and Art, Tuesday evenings)
– Torah Study with Commentaries – Rabbi Michael will teach a new Torah Study as we explore the weekly readings through the eyes of the classic commentators like Rashi, Ibn Ezra, and Ramban. For both beginning and advanced students. All texts will be in English, with Hebrew as needed.

TBS Religious School News
We are on Thanksgiving break through 11/30. Classes resume Thursday, 12/4.

Please consider continued giving in light of the food banks all over the country running out of food.

Email Alert!
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to alert you.  It appears either the Temple or Larry Terkel’s emails were hacked.  I received a strange request to pick up a gift card for him yesterday.  It appears Eric received a similar request.  It lists Larry as Temple President.  I called Larry to discuss.  I just received a call back. Larry did not send the email.  He called me from Brasil.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Bill Riter (really me)
