Letter from Rabbi Ross

Dear TBS Friends & Family,

We began this week with the terrible news of the shootings at Brown University on Saturday, and the horror of the massacre at Sydney on Sunday.
With broken hearts, we respond by lighting the menorah anyway for the 8 nights of Hanukkah. We respond by bringing hope into the darkest time of the year.

Join us Friday for our Hanukkah Party as we mark the deaths and usher in the light.
Our 5:30pm dinner is sold out. But you can join us for candle lighting and songs at 6:45. At 7:15 we will have a brief Shabbat Service and at 8pm we will have our special oneg.

TBS’ Adult B’nai Mitzvah Class Starting this winter!
On Saturday mornings, we will be working on Torah Service liturgy and spiritual autobiography writing for the next few months!
– Jewish Prayer Essentials – structure & meaning of prayers (Saturday mornings before Torah Study, from 9:00 – 9:45 am)
– Basic Hebrew (with Jean and Art, Tuesday evenings)
– Torah Study with Commentaries – Rabbi Michael will teach a new Torah Study as we explore the weekly readings through the eyes of the classic commentators like Rashi, Ibn Ezra, and Ramban. For both beginning and advanced students. All texts will be in English, with Hebrew as needed.

TBS Religious School News
Our final class of the semester will be Thursday, 12/18.
Winter break will take place from 12/21 – 1/4

Jewish Meditation Circle

TBS foodbank donations

Please consider continued giving in light of the food banks all over the country running out of food.
We have received donations and they’ve been processed! The total amount of monetary donations was $2,822, providing 8,466 meals for our community. That’s amazing, thank you so much for your continued support and generosity during this time and every year!

Calling all Acme shoppers…

TBS is participating in Acme’s Community Cash Back program.
Now through February 15, when you purchase the following brands, bring your receipts to the temple to help us earn funds.
There are two collection spots for your convenience. For questions, please text or call Eric Draper at 216-630-6075.
