Sisterhood Schmooze 7/2/2015
Become a “Twisted Sista” and Join the Fun at Sisterhood’s July Dining Out Event!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly four months since we gathered at the Office Bistro! At that time, we were coping with the remnants of a winter that just wouldn’t let go!
Now that the summer season has begun, it’s time to get together for some eating, schmoozing and sharing.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday evening, July 30th. We will be gathering at a new and exciting restaurant in Green called THE TWISTED OLIVE.
Located just off Interstate 77 at 5430 Massillon Road in North Canton, this rustic dining spot in a park-like setting is operated by the same folks who own Canton’s Gervasi Vineyard.
Be sure to check out their menu online. THE TWISTED OLIVE offers a large selection of Italian and American entrees, including salads and sandwiches. (On-site, free parking is available).
Jennifer Kornblum, our esteemed Sisterhood secretary, has graciously offered to coordinate reservations.
Please contact her at JLH4000@aol.com.
We look forward to seeing you there!
WRJ Central District… Updates and Highlights
WRJ Central District President and TBS Sisterhood member, Sandy Adland has advised that the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) has created a new mission statement.
Sandy was in attendance at a recent WRJ board meeting in New York City and subsequently remarked that “history was made.”
According to Sandy’s commentary in the Canton Temple Israel newsletter, The Temple Bulletin, the new mission statement “was adopted to reflect our ever-changing Jewish world.”
The new mission statement now reads: “Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) strengthens the voice of women world-wide and empowers them to create caring communities, nurture congregations, cultivate personal and spiritual growth, and advocate for and promote progressive Jewish values.”
