Dear TBS Friends and Family,

This Saturday is our next Prayer Lab session. Our topic is “Engaging the Body.” Come, grab a bagel and enjoy the great discussion!

Rabbi’s Upcoming Israel Trip!В 

I was accepted to join a group of Jewish education directors who will be travelling to Israel from 2/18-2/27. I am excited to visitВ and hear the stories that will help our community understand this complex, evolving crisis. If you have prayers you want me to place at the Western Wall, email or send them to me in the next few weeks. If you have travelers’ tzedakah or charity you would like me to donate, you can get that to me as well.

The goal of this trip is to give educators insights and strategies for teaching about Israel and Palestine to our students, our teachers, and our communities.
I feel deeply honoredВ and blessedВ to represent TBS on this important mission. Jean Beaseley will run the religious school in my stead for both of my upcoming trips. We will alsoВ cancelВ our Friday 2/23 Shabbat service.

Judaism 101В -В 11 Sunday afternoons (3/3-5/12 at 4:00 pm)
After the Israel 101 class ends, I will then offer another round of my JudaismВ 101 course, which will continueВ at the same time slot until mid-May.

Have you ever wanted to learn more aboutВ Judaism from an adult perspective?
Are you considering conversion to Judaism?
If so, this class can formВ a great foundation to get you started. We will focus on JewishВ history, holidays, ideas and traditions.
All Judaism 101 students are highly encouraged to also attend the Israel 101 course.
There will be a few paperback books as part of the class as well.

• Class fees -В $10 for TBS members or $56 for the entire course,В $18 per class non-members or $154 for the entire course.В College students can pay a donation.В (Fees for the class will go to pay our zoom manager/teaching assistant.)

RELIGIOUS SCHOOL UPDATE
We are postponing our special morning of learning with Rabbi Rachel Brown. We will find a later date to come together.

Bingo Night 2024
• The TBS Brotherhood would like to thank everyone for their hard work the last few weeks working on Bingo Night, getting us some great auction items, and helping to setup and breakdown on Saturday.
We also want to thank everyone that joined us for a fun and successful evening, and especially thank our emcee for the night, Eric Chupack. He really made the night FUN!

• Please come to the next Sisterhood dinner out at Yours Truly Hudson Tuesday Feb. 20th at 7:00 pm. We are holding a place for you! Email Beth Madis at madisb@gmail.com to RSVP.

• Our Hamantaschen bake will be either March 9th or 10th beginning at 9:00 am. We’ll bake for the Oneg, the Religious school and a few for each of us. Email jeanrhodes16th@gmail.com to let her know your preferred day.

• In preparation for the NATURE themed Sisterhood Shabbat we’ll have a docent-led tour at the Cleveland Museum of Art on “Seeing Nature through the Eyes of the Artist (April-May schedule).  We will also go on a hike in the CVNP led by Marcy Caplin and Beth Madis.  Other events are being planned.  Your nature themed writings, artwork or photography can be submitted to Jeanie Rhodes for the service.  Watch for emails.
