Letter from Rabbi Ross
Rabbi Michael Ross
Dear TBS Friends and Family,

A final update from vacation land: I spent the past week at Camp Havaya in the Poconos, the home of the Reconstructionist summer camp. We commemorated Tisha B’Av on Monday evening, noting our profound brokenness this year and how this brokenness is similar to other historical moments of Jewish loss. We also watched the campers draw images of repair, resilience and action to rebuild our broken world. It was a heavy day of fasting, with nearly half the campers fasting.
The news in the Middle East seems to point to a possible negotiated settlement in the coming days that might head off the possibility of a wider war in Israel in Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon.
Blessings of peace and wholeness as we enter Shabbat.

Torah For Our Times Returns this August!
This summer we are returning to our popular Torah study class, “Torah For Our Times.” In August and September, we will focus on High Holiday themes.
Each session will be from 9:30 am – 11:15 am. We will study Torah for about an hour or so, and then have a brief morning prayer service.
Bagels and cream cheese will be served!

Important Religious School News

HUDSON  COMMUNITY  DAYS

Last Saturday morning, Paige Mintz, TBS Tots Program Leader, arranged for TBS to participate at Hudson Community Days on the Green, where local religious and volunteer organizations were able to talk with Hudson residents about their good works. At our booth we met lots of people, including several unaffiliated Jewish families and retirees, as well as many residents who stopped by to wish us well. Huge THANKS to volunteers Paige MintzMike Miller and Kim Strausser who donated toy giveaways for the children who visited our booth, and helped James FieldMark Schildhouse and Laurie Frankino put up our tent, Amy McCormick, Membership Chair, and special thanks to Drew Dallet who created a great TBS flyer announcing our upcoming fall events.
