Letter from Rabbi Ross
Rabbi Michael Ross
Dear TBS Friends and Family,

I want to thank everyone for joining us at TBS last Friday for the amazing Selinger Tribute. The musical tributes were wonderful, and we were touched to hear reflections from the last 6 TBS presidents. It felt like the past 20 years of TBS leadership were on display for this wonderful evening.

This Saturday at 9:00 and 9:45 are our next Prayer Essentials class and our Torah Study discussion. Bagels will be served. join us!

Two Exciting Announcements
This Friday at Hillel,  Rabbi Micah Shapiro will be leading a special Nariya-style musical Shabbat service. These are chanting song circles that allow the group to experience an hour of song as it moves through parts of the Friday evening liturgy.
Rabbi Rachel and I both deeply enjoyed this musical experience last summer.
Service at 5:30, dinner at 7:00 pm
You don’t want to miss this amazing evening of music.

CELEBRATING THE SELINGER’S

It was a full house last Friday night when our congregation and friends and family of the Selinger’s celebrated Jonathan and Robin’s long commitment to TBS.

There was laughter and tears, memories galore. Son David Selinger spoke lovingly of his parents’ commitment to TBS and his own experiences as a student at TBS. Deb Rogers created and performed a clever parody with back-up from our choir of 5, and highlights of Jonathan’s career from the 6 past temple presidents and a moving blessing by Rabbi Michael completed the service. The TBS Board of Trustees created a special fund to honor the Selinger’s love of continuing Jewish education for our Rabbi, Cantor and Education staff and a microphone was purchased by Brotherhood for our choir performances to honor Robin’s love of music. Sisterhood provided a beautiful oneg after services in honor of the event. It was a magical evening. Thanks to all who attended.

TBS Legacy Fund Update

Participation increasing!
I want to thank everyone who are answering the call to join us in owning and preserving our building and the Jewish presence it represents. Since last week participation has increased from 29% to 40%, great progress but still looking to get that up to 80, 90, 100%.

Again, no contribution is too small, and our match is still happening so whatever you give will be doubled. Our total is up to 69% so let’s keep this going.

Contributions can be made by check, stock or right on our website. And if you use Zeffy (see below links section) to process your credit card you can choose the amount you want for fees all the way down to 0%. Let’s do this!

Thank you and blessings to all,
Larry Terkel, President
