e-Megillah
Thursday, May 2, 2024 Letter from Rabbi Ross Wow, our community seder last Friday was amazing! Such a joy to host a large group for seder! A huge thank you to Laurie and Jen Frankino, James Field, Julie Lakas and Joyce Bigham for all of their hard work! This Shabbat, I am hosting a special Torah Study & Bagel Brunch at Kent State Hillel from 10-11:30. This Saturday is May 4, and the annual Kent State memorial service will be at noon. Student protesters are planning to use this opportunity to voice their protests. We are not expecting any violence of any kind. I will also bring a small group of folks back to Hillel around 2:30 or 3:00 Saturday to say Mourner’s Kaddish and have a discussion about the memorial. All TBS folks are welcome to join us for bagels, Torah and more. Please park in the Hillel parking lot. Religious School Updates – We have begun advertising for a new education director for next fall. Please let us know if you know anyone who might be interested! We have formed a search committee for this opening, and will be sharing info and details in the weeks to come. Judaism 101 – 12 Sunday afternoons (3/3-5/12 at 4:00 pm) If so, this class can form a great foundation to get you started. We will focus on Jewish history, holidays, ideas and traditions.

PASSOVER SEDER THANKS
This Passover, for the first time, we held beautiful Passover seders for both our religious school families led by Rabbi Ross and Cantorial Soloist, Deb Rogers, Jean Beasley and Kate Pallescki, and our temple community, led by Rabbi Ross and song leader, Chuck Fink.
Thanks to volunteers Cheryl Butensky, Deborah Cummings, Julie Lakas, Toby Liberman, Joyce Bigam, James Field, the Cinotti family for your assistance behind the scenes in making these seders so memorable. And to our religious school families, our temple community, guests and new friends who supported these events by attending in record numbers, our most sincere thank you. Laurie Frankino, Ritual Chair Donations to support Israel can be made at

This will help to complete the many projects planned for 2024 for TBS. TBS Sisterhood meetings/events • We are also planning a walk/hike in the CVNP led by Marcy Caplin, Beth Madis and Randy Herman. There will be a longer and shorter walk to meet all abilities. Randy will be our ornithologist on the hike! She will be pointing out birds and other wildlife. • I would like to gauge interest in a car pooling to the community-wide All-night Learning Tuesday June 11, 2024 (Erev Shavuot). It is a splendid thing to do. And we need not stay all night! Let me know if you’d consider it at jeanrhodes16th@gmail.com.
