Message from the President 4/3/2014
Happy Spring! Soon it will be Passover, which is my favorite holiday. I am completely excited to tell you that Rabbi Egolf and his family will be joining us in Hudson for our 2nd Seder on Tuesday, April 15th. You should have recently received the information on joining us for this wonderful community event. Rabbi Egolf is not leading the seder; he is attending with his family because he will be in the area looking at homes. I hope that as many of you as possible will attend!
Please plan on attending our congregational meeting on Friday, April 11, at 7 PM, prior to services. This is the meeting where the congregation votes to accept the board’s choice for our new rabbi. I will talk briefly about the process we went through and update the congregation on the state of our building.
I want to give a big shout out to Brotherhood and their excellent work on the recent wine tasting event! It was fun, informative and a terrific fundraiser! Thank you to all who attended and thank you to all the members of Brotherhood who made this event happen.
Temple Beth Shalom is a happening place! We have Hubsty, Torah study, book groups, religious school, community events and worship services. A Yom Hashoah event will occur on Friday, April 25th. The community has been invited to this event and Brotherhood is planning and leading the service. The month of May will bring our 36th anniversary weekend celebration. Please note that our services will not follow the usual 2nd and 4th Fridays in May or in June. Services in May are on the 9th and 16th, the anniversary celebration continues on Sunday the 18th with a barbeque. Services in June will be on the 6th (farewell dinner and service for Rabbi Ezring) and 27th. Our annual congregational meeting will be squeezed in during our farewell service on June 6th. As always, please email or call me if you have concerns, questions, or want to be a part of helping with committee work.
Kim
