This vintage photograph, taken in May of 1963, features (from left to right), my mother, Florence Fleisher (z”l), family friend, Pauline Adelman (z”l) and my Aunt Elaine Jacobson (z”l) standing by the Tchotchke Counter, also known as the Gift Gallery at Temple Israel in Canton, Ohio.

These three ladies were all decked-out with the requisite hats, gloves and their finest jewelry as attendees of the annual Spring Sisterhood Donor Luncheon.

Sistas, I guess you can say, “We’ve come a long way, baby!”
