Temple Beth Shalom will be joining with the First Congregational Church of Hudson and the Islamic Community Center for an annual interfaith day of worship through service. Working in conjunction with other faith partners and community organizations in Akron, teams of volunteers work together for one day on a variety of projects in the North Hill neighborhood. There are projects and experiences for all ages and ability levels. In addition to traditional hands-on projects, First Serve 2023 will offer new cultural immersion experiences to help expand participants’ appreciation and understanding of the rich and vibrant cultures that make up the North Hill community of Akron.

  • Sun. 7/23, 2:05 pm – Rubber Ducks. Meet at the ticket office @ 1:45 pm
  • Sun. 8/13, 9:00 am – Brotherhood meeting at TBS. Join us for bagels and coffee.
  • Fri, 8/18, time TBA – Outdoor Service and Cookout at Hudson Springs Park – Brotherhood Grill Masters will transport the grill and cook for the event.

TBSSisterhood meetings/events

  • Next year, Jeanie Rhodes will be the president of the Sisterhood. Robin Rosen-Sharp served as president for nine years and she deserves a hearty thanks. She’ll take over the Secretary-Treasurer position but would be willing for another Sister to come forward to take over these tasks.
