We are taking the weekend off to celebrate Independence Day. Please take time this weekend and explore the role of democracy in our lives. Democracy is under fire here, in Israel, in Ukraine. Spiritually, this is a time to deeply appreciate how democracy in America has served American Jews and how we desperately pray that democracy can serve our children in their future. It’s a good time to reread the Declaration of Independence, as a type of Torah reading for the week.

SHABBAT SERVICE at TBS on 7/7
Join us for a Shabbat Service at TBS where we will talk about entering a time of collective grief and mourning. Next Thursday marks the 3 weeks that lead up to Tisha B’av. (I mistakenly listed this date as a BBQ in last week’s e-Megillah. Our BBQ will come next month on 8/18!)

• Next year, Jeanie Rhodes will be the president of the Sisterhood. Robin Rosen-Sharp has served as president for nine years and she deserves a hearty thanks. She’ll take over the Secretary-Treasurer position but would be willing for another Sister to come forward to take over these tasks.
