“It Takes a Village”… Plus Some Very Dedicated Volunteers
Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Second Night Congregational Seder so special and meaningful.
We wish to sincerely acknowledge the hard work and efforts of our wonderful Sisterhood members who devoted hours of their time in both shopping and preparing the traditional Seder meal.
We truly appreciate Robin Rosen-Sharp’s efforts in coordinating the volunteer team for the Charoset Chop! Thanks and kudos, Robin!
Randy Herman, as always, did a splendid job of coordinating all of the reservations. Thank you so much!
Also assisting with the Charoset Chop were Lisa and Rick Singer, Kim Strausser and Sandy Ternay. You certainly worked your magic in the kitchen!
Those sistas who “shopped and schlepped” must surely be acknowledged: Frieda Miller-Brown, Robin Rosen-Sharp and Lisa Singer… your generosity and contributions are greatly appreciated.
Marcy Caplin and Lisa Singer were on hand to help set-up the Social Hall. They were joined by Brotherhood members, Art Busch, James Field, Rick Singer and Ed Weisman. Your entire team did an excellent job and we thank all of you!
Yours truly, Emily Audra Fleisher, came in late in the game to add some final touches to the tables the night of the Seder.
Our TBS Sisterhood continues the tradition of providing tzedakah at times when it is needed the most. A substantial donation was made to TBS in support of our Seder with contributions from last year’s WRJ Centennial celebration. (A cash gift was also donated to the WRJ YES Fund).
Rabbi Jim Egolf skillfully guided us through the Haggadah and Passover service while Robin Selinger led us in songs with her beautiful and spirited musical accompaniment.
Thank you to TBS Ritual Chair Laurie Frankino for organizing the Seder.
“The Fifth Question”
Can anyone guess how many matzo balls were created for the soup? Lisa and Rick Singer know the answer as they were the team who created them!
Everyone… except those guests at Table 4… are eligible to submit a guess!
Send an e-mail with “Matzo Math” in the subject line to emaudra@juno.com. The entry coming closest to the actual number (without going over) will win a valuable prize! (Be sure to include your name and phone number).
Deadline is “Tax Day”… April 15th.
Sisterhood Shabbat
A cordial invitation is extended to our TBS family to attend the annual Sisterhood Shabbat on Friday, April 24th, at 7:45 p.m.
This special service is Sisterhood’s gift to the congregation. An Oneg, also hosted by our Sisterhood members, will be offered following the service.
Details will be forthcoming…
Save the Date
There will be a special Shavuot celebration at TBS the evening of Friday, May 22nd. Planning is underway for a dinner and program which will be offered prior to Shabbat services.
Following services, our Sisterhood will be hosting an ultra-sweet treat: A Shavuot Cheesecake Bake-Off raffle!
Similar to our ever-popular “Night of a 1000 Noshes,” the cheesecake event will enable participants to sample our finest and also take home a whole cheesecake!
Raffle tickets will be sold the night of the event. ($1.00 each or 6 for $5.00)
Now’s the time, sistas to “sift” through your cookbooks and select your favorite cheesecake recipe to share.
Please contact Stefani Carlson, TBS Education Director, at education@tbshudson.org for information about this event.
Yours in Sisterhood,
Emily Audra Fleisher
