Letter from Rabbi Ross
Dear TBS Friends and Family,
Please join us for a cookout at Hudson Springs Park this Friday! It will be wonderful to socialize and enjoy some BBQ! We will be discussing Miriam the prophetess, who dies in this week’s Torah reading. We will also explore our need for a prophetic vision right now. Chuck Fink and I will lead a brief Shabbat service after dinner. Special dessert Oneg to follow!
This week I officiated at the funeral of David Siegel. It was touching and poignant to see so many of David’s friends, TBS folks and caregivers who came to honor this wonderful man. We will share more stories about David at the picnic. Beth Madis’ father, Arnold Remer also died this week. His funeral is Friday in Toledo. A special havdalah gathering will be held at her home next Saturday evening, 7/16. May David and Arnold’s memories be a blessing.
Group Outing to Blossom 🎵
Anyone interested in enjoying an evening at Blossom Music Center this coming Sunday? The concert is Paul Simon’s songbook performed by the Cleveland Orchestra. Purchase your own tickets, and if you would like to try and meet up somewhere on the lawn for some wine and cheese before and or during the concert, please reach out to Kim at kimstrausser@gmail.com
If anyone would like to meet up later this season, email Kim with some possible August or September dates.
Religious School Work Day this Sunday and July 31
Rabbi Rachel Brown is calling on volunteers to assist her in readying the temple building to receive religious school students this fall. A group of Brotherhood, Sisterhood and other temple volunteers is needed to meet this Sunday morning, 9-12 noon to clear and reorganize 3 classrooms. Bagels & coffee will be served.
Sunday, July 31, we will meet again to build and set new shelving units to organize and reset these new spaces before the start of religious school Sunday, August 28. Questions to James jdfield23@aol.com or Laurie lfrankino@gmail.com.
