Letter from Rabbi Ross
Dear TBS Friends and Family,
The anguish over Ukraine continues. Yesterday, the Hillel building in Kharkiv was destroyed. (Hillel in Ukraine serves college students and young adults, and is similar to a JCC.)
Please find ways to support folks in the Ukraine this week:
- Rabbi Rachel and I donated to the JDC last week before Shabbat: https://www.jdc.org/
- World Union for Progressive Judaism is helping at this link: https://wupj.org/give/ukraine/
Please find ways to research about the Jews in Ukraine as well. The history is fascinating. It’s worth noting how TBS assisted the Jews fleeing the former Soviet Union 30 years ago. Our assistance and support will be needed again.
PURIM IS COMING!
- In preparation for Purim at TBS on 3/11, we will have a special Torah Study this Shabbat on the Book of Esther. We will meet in-person or on Zoom at 9:30 Saturday, 3/5.
- A week from Friday, 3/11, we will have a special Purim Party & Megillah reading at 7:30 pm. Please wear a funny hat!
- Rabbi Rachel will lead a special Purim Carnival for the religious school families on Sunday, 3/13, at the new City Hall. The entire TBS is invited to join in the fun!
