Letter from Rabbi Ross

Rabbi Michael RossDear TBS Friends and Family,

Join us for our next Prayer Lab session this Saturday at 9:30! We will explore the prayers we say when we first wake up, or when we enter the synagogue. We had an amazing turnout last time, and I look forward to this group growing and developing. Each session is independent, so folks can come and go as they need to and do not need to attend each session. Join us for bagels, great discussion, and some Torah Study about this week’s section, Lech Lecha.

Israel Election Update
Israelis went to the polls and Benjamin Nettanyahu was re-elected after a year or so of a left/center/right unity coalition government. Unfortunately, Netanyahu  was sent into the majority by his outreach to far right extremists, including  Itamar Ben Gvir. Ben Gvir is a follower of Meir Kahane and Baruch Goldstein, the person who murdered 29 Palestinian worshipers in 1994. His party is named Otzma Yehudit, or Jewish Power. We support democratic elections, but we must speak out against fascism and racism. More on the results from the URJ can be found here: https://urj.org/press-room/reform-jewish-leaders-respond-israeli-election-results
